The auger filling machine, one of the most popular types of filling equipment, operates on a simple yet effective principle. Bulk materials are first loaded into the hopper, where the auger drive keeps the auger rotating at a constant speed to move the materials downward into the funnel.
The agitator blade operates separately and rotates in the opposite direction to the auger. Its purpose is to eliminate air pockets in the powders, ensuring a more uniform mixture.
Additionally, the agitator blade extends all the way down to the funnel, preventing issues such as rat-holing and cavitation. This design ensures that the auger flights remain consistently packed with the product.
The auger flights are evenly spaced, ensuring that each pitch is filled with ingredients of the same bulk density and particle size. This precise spacing enables accurate dosing as the auger rotates.
